After edging Scotty by one game in week 1, he came back with a vengeance in week 2 as he pulled out 3 more wins than me as he moved ahead of me in the standings. He compiled an impressive 11-5 record for the week while calling upsets such as the Rams and Vikings. Week 3 features another great slate of games, with some tough matchups to choose. Who did we pick?
Scotty: 20-12 (11-5)
Jonathan: 18-14 (8-8)
Houston Texans (2-0) @ New England Patriots (2-0)
Brock Osweiler has not looked like he was worth that contract so far. I expect to see him make simple work of the New England defense with a lot of help from his arsenal of talented offensive threats.
Arizona Cardinals (1-1) @ Buffalo Bills (0-2)
Rex Ryan might be seeing the last of his days as a head coach, even though the schedule has been pretty tough I don’t see anyway Buffalo beats the Arizona Cardinals this week.
Oakland Raiders (1-1) @ Tennessee Titans (1-1)
Call me crazy but I am in love with this Tennessee team, they don’t have a superstar but they play good football. That mixed with the Raiders giving up over 500 yards a game I’ll take Tennessee.
Washington Redskins (0-2) @ New York Giants (2-0)
Melee at the Meadowlands Part II? We’ll get to see Odell Beckham guarded by Josh Norman in the most anticipated matchup of week 3. I see a Giants victory as Eli Manning outduels Kirk Cousins, who hasn’t played particularly well to start the year.
Cleveland Browns (0-2) @ Miami Dolphins (0-2)
Ryan Tannehill looked very good last week, but his efforts weren’t enough against a stout Patriots squad. Miami should handle Cleveland in week 3 for their first 2016 win.
Baltimore Ravens (2-0) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
The Jags finally get the W this week against the undefeated Ravens. This game won’t be one that will be remembered as a great game by any means. Allen Robinson will be on top of his game to show out from last week.
Detroit Lions (1-1) @ Green Bay Packers (1-1)
The Packers look very uncharacteristically average so far this year. I look for the Lions defense to do just enough to pull out a victory.
Denver Broncos (2-0) @ Cincinnati Bengals (1-1)
After picking against Denver last year, I learned my lesson. Their defense is good enough to keep them in games, and I expect them to rattle Andy Dalton early on en route to a low scoring victory.
Minnesota Vikings (2-0) @ Carolina Panthers (1-1)
The Vikings have been bit hard by the injury bug this past week alone, losing their starting RB and LT as Peterson and Kalil will miss extended periods of time. Cam Newton and the Panthers will take advantage and improve to 2-1.
Los Angeles Rams (1-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)
After getting whooped last week I see The Bucs handling the Rams. Mike Evans got 17 targets last week and I expect to see that amount again.
San Francisco 49ers (1-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (1-1)
Even after an embarrassing loss to LA last week, you just can’t pick against the Seahawks against a team like the 49ers. Russell Wilson and the offense get back into rhythm.
New York Jets (1-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (1-1)
This tough AFC matchup could go either way. I see Alex Smith engineering a late game-winning drive in what proves to be the best finish of the week.
San Diego Chargers (1-1) @ Indianapolis Colts (0-2)
The Chargers defense and offense were great last week. I still expect the offense to look good against that Colts defense. Should be a fun high scoring game to watch.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) @ Philadelphia Eagles (2-0)
As much as I’d like to see my Eagles come away with a win in this one, Pittsburgh’s offense will prove to be too much. Antonio Brown amasses 100 receiving yards and scores a pair of TDs.
Chicago Bears (0-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
In what might be the worst Sunday night game of the year the Cowboys should take this one. If you play fantasy football I recommend playing every Dallas player you can.
Atlanta Falcons (1-1) @ New Orleans Saints (0-2)
This Monday Night Football matchup will see a lot of points. Drew Brees should go off against a poor Atlanta secondary as the two teams combine for 60+ points.
