Every week fantasy owners have tough decisions to make. Whether it is who to start in their FLEX spot or if they should start a less quality player against a weaker defense. This week Breaking Football is changing things up. I will be giving my fantasy followers my solo rankings based on PPR scoring. As an added bonus this week I will explain my favorite match up for each position. If you have more specific questions regarding fantasy football and my rankings, ask me on twitter (@MikeSports22) and as always happy hunting fantasy friends.

My Favorite Quarterback Matchup

Matt Ryan @ Patriots: So far this season, Ryan has been a fantasy disappointment, averaging just 13.4 fantasy points per game. Since week one, Ryan has failed to reach 15 fantasy points in any game and has seven turnovers after having just ten all of last year. However, this week Ryan gets to take on the Patriots defense that ranks last against opposing quarterbacks, giving up an average of 24.2 fantasy points per game. Ryan will need a big game this week for the Falcons to get the win and keep fantasy owners happy. I believe Ryan will have his first 20 point fantasy game of the season, but if he doesn’t, it might be time to drop the reigning MVP.

My Favorite Running Back Matchup

Adrian Peterson @ Rams: Last week Peterson showed he still has some gas left in the tank, finishing the game against the Buccaneers with 134 rushing yards, two touchdowns and 25.4 fantasy points. This week Peterson should come back down to earth and shouldn’t put up another 25 fantasy point game. However, Peterson has fresh legs (thanks to his limited touches while in New Orleans) and faces the worst defense against opposing running backs. The Rams give up an average of 32 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Peterson should have another good game this week but expect closer to 15 fantasy points this week.

My Favorite Wide Receiver Matchup

A.J. Green @Steelers: Since the change at offensive coordinator, Green has been a beast, scoring an average of 24.8 fantasy points per game. Over the last three games, Green has 22 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns. After the bye week the Bengals offense should be at full speed this week against the Steelers. While the Steelers rank first against opposing wide receivers, giving up just 19.7 points per game on average, the best receiver they have faced all year long was Stefon Diggs. Look for Green to continue his hot streak and finish with another 20+ fantasy point outing.

Tight Ends
Rank Name Team Opponent
1 Rob Gronkowski Patriots vs Falcons
2 Zach Ertz Eagles vs Redskins
3 Travis Kelce Chiefs at Raiders
4 Austin Seferian-Jenkins Jets at Dolphins
5 Delanie Walker Titans at Browns
6 Jordan Reed Redskins at Eagles
7 Hunter Henry Chargers vs Broncos
8 Jimmy Graham Seahawks at Giants
9 Evan Engram Giants vs Seahawks
10 Austin Hooper Falcons at Patriots
11 Cameron Brate Buccaneers at Bills
12 Kyle Rudolph Vikings vs Ravens
13 Jared Cook Raiders vs Chiefs
14 Jack Doyle Colts vs Jaguars
15 Zach Miller Bears vs Panthers
16 Jason Witten Cowboys at 49ers
17 George Kittle 49ers vs Cowboys
18 Tyler Kroft Bengals at Steelers
19 Ed Dickson Panthers at Bears
20 Nick O’Leary Bills vs Buccaneers

My Favorite Tight End Matchup

Jimmy Graham at Giants: After scoring just 4.9 fantasy points in the first two games of the season, Graham has scored double-digits in three straight games while averaging 13.3 fantasy points per game during that span. Coming off the bye week, Graham’s ankle injury should be behind him and this week he faces the Giants that give up the most points to opposing tight ends, giving up an average of 20.2 fantasy points per game. Graham ranks fifth among tight ends in targets per game this season and with Doug Baldwin being shadowed by Janoris Jenkins, look for Russell Wilson to target Graham a lot this week.

D/STs
Rank Team Opponent
1 Vikings vs Ravens
2 Titans at Browns
3 Seahawks at Giants
4 Jaguars at Colts
5 Cowboys at 49ers
6 Dolphins vs Jets
7 Panthers at Bears
8 Broncos at Chargers
9 Saints at Packers
10 Giants vs Seahawks
11 Rams vs Cardinals
12 Ravens at Vikings
13 Chiefs at Raiders
14 Bills vs Buccaneers
15 Buccaneers at Bills

My Favorite Defense/ST Matchup

Vikings vs Ravens: For the fourth straight week, the Vikings D/ST finished with at least eight fantasy points. Over those four games the Vikings have eight takeaways and 13 sacks. This week they faceoff against the Ravens offense that is ranked 28th in the league and has been a mess so far this season. Opposing D/STs are averaging 9.3 fantasy points per game against the Ravens offense. The Vikings have the best matchup this week and next week they face the Browns; two great matchups in a row.

Kickers
Rank Name Team Opponent
1 Stephen Gostkowski Patriots vs Falcons
2 Matt Bryant Falcons at Patriots
3 Dan Bailey Cowboys at 49ers
4 Ryan Succop Titans at Browns
5 Jake Elliott Eagles vs Redskins
6 Robbie Gould 49ers vs Cowboys
7 Graham Gano Panthers at Bears
8 Mason Crosby Packers vs Saints
9 Wil Lutz Saints at Packers
10 Greg Zuerlein Rams vs Cardinals
11 Harrison Butker Chiefs at Raiders
12 Giorgio Tavecchio Raiders vs Chiefs

My Favorite Kicker Matchup

Ryan Succop at Browns: On Monday Night Football against the Colts, Succop had a season high 21 fantasy points and on the season he has four games with double-digit fantasy points. Succop has yet to miss a kick this season and this week faces the Browns defense that gives ups the sixth most points per game at 26.2. While the Titans offense may score touchdowns instead of field goals on the Browns horrible defense, at least fantasy owners know Succop will get the chance to kick and will make them.
