So it’s Thursday, which means a couple of thing: Thursday Night Football and Breaking Football’s weekly picks. As you’re well aware, Thursday Night Football has sucked butt so far this year, with none of the games finishing with a deficit of less than 20 points. That maaaay change tonight, though, as it looks like we actually have a fairly solid matchup, for once. The 3-2 Colts head to H-Town to take on the 3-2 Texans in a battle for AFC South supremacy. TENTATIVE SUPREMACY.
In our weekly game-pickin’ competition between Kevin Roberts y yo, we both fared extremely well last week, with Kevin going 11-4 and I myself going 12-3. On the season, I’m ahead 51-24 to 47-28. As always, suck it, Bobs!
To Week 6 we go.
Indianapolis Colts (3-2) @ Houston Texans (3-2)
Kevin Roberts: Colts – J.J. Watt and Arian Foster are worth believing in, but the rest of the Texans? I’ll take Andrew Luck, instead.
Taylor Smith: Texans – Andrew Luck is worth believing in, but the rest of the Colts? Trent Richardson? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5) @ Tennessee Titans (1-4)
Kevin: Jaguars – Is this even an upset? I know the Jags are terrible, but they have to win eventually and the Titans might be close to as bad as they are.
Taylor: Titans – The Titans are god awful, but I’m going to note that this is the second week in a row that Kevin has picked the Jaguars.
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) @ Cleveland Browns (2-2)
Kevin: Browns – They’ve been in every game this year. They’re at home, too, and the Steelers just aren’t all that great.
Taylor: Browns – The Hoyers should’ve beaten the Steelers in Week 1, but they’ll have to settle for REVENGE here.
New England Patriots (3-2) @ Buffalo Bills (3-2)
Kevin: Patriots – Buffalo’s defense is legit, but the Pats seem to have their mojo back. Also, Kyle Orton and all.
Taylor: Patriots – Still not sold on New England, but that Bills win last week was total fool’s gold.
Carolina Panthers (3-2) @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-1)
Kevin: Bengals – Carolina doesn’t look good in any regard right now. Hard to see Cincy not bouncing back at home.
Taylor: Bengals – Cat fight! Rawr. Bengals have no pass-catchers in this game, but whatevs. Not like the Panthers do, either.
Green Bay Packers (3-2) @ Miami Dolphins (2-2)
Kevin: Dolphins – I love my Packers, but Miami’s D is solid and and GB tends to struggle in Miami for some reason.
Taylor: Packers – No reason to trust that idiot Joe Philbin to have his team’s shit together, even after a bye.
Detroit Lions (3-2) @ Minnesota Vikings (2-3)
Kevin: Lions – Detroit has the best defense in the league. The hell? Teddy Bridgwater won’t be enough.
Taylor: Vikings – This team looked like trash last week, but that’s what happens when you have a trash quarterback. Their non-trash QB should be back this time around.
Denver Broncos (3-1) @ New York Jets (1-4)
Kevin: Broncos – Right, the Jets are saving their good game for THIS week. They’re toast.
Taylor: Broncos – Pretty brutal schedule you’ve got there so far, Jets.
Baltimore Ravens (3-2) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-4)
Kevin: Buccaneers – Joe Flacco is awful on the road and Tampa is actually decent with Glennon back there.
Taylor: Buccaneers – Since we’re both picking the Bucs, they’re definitely gonna lose.
San Diego Chargers (4-1) @ Oakland Raiders (0-4)
Kevin: Chargers – I know we all expect the Bolts to burst into flames eventually, but the Raiders? The hot streak continues.
Taylor: Chargers – San Diego lost in The Black Hole last year, but that was last year.
Chicago Bears (2-3) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-3)
Kevin: Falcons – Chicago has been good on the road but they did lose last week and ATL is super tough in the dome.
Taylor: Bears – No reason for this.
Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (3-1)
Kevin: Cowboys – Here’s the upset. I know it could backfire, but I think Dallas is legit. This will be how they prove to everyone I’m right.
Taylor: Seahawks – Nope.
Washington Redskins (1-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-1)
Kevin: Cardinals – This pick hinges on Carson Palmer playing, but AZ is just really tough in the desert and the Redskins suck.
Taylor: Cardinals – Yup.
New York Giants (3-2) @ Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)
Kevin: Eagles – The Giants need to lose again soon so the world doesn’t implode. Philly feels like a pretty safe bet at home.
Taylor: Eagles – The Giants are on in prime time again!? God. Why.
San Francisco 49ers (3-2) @ St. Louis Rams (1-3)
Kevin: 49ers – I’m sure Austin Davis will light the world on fire again this week, but I still can’t pick the Rams.
Taylor: 49ers – Crapernick is crap, but so are the Rams. So…
