Week 6 is upon us and it’s hard to believe that we are almost 1/3 of the way through the NFL season. We have a few games this week with extremely large spreads that ultimately leave us with a ton of value at running back. I’m starting to think this is the week where we can finally pay up for our high-priced quarterbacks and wide receivers. Look for a bunch of low scoring games this week with a handful of blow ups to mix in.
Kirk Cousins (7,800) vs 49ers: Cousins is priced as QB8 this week. Many people will tell you that is about where he should be priced, but I think he is underpriced. We are talking about a quarterback who has legitimate 4 touchdown and QB1 upside. The Redskins are coming off a bye after losing a tough one at Arrowhead Stadium the week before. I expect the Redskins to come out with a vengeance and Cousins will keep his foot on the gas for the entire game. San Francisco is ranked 26th in pass defense DVOA through five weeks and they show no signs of getting better.
Mark Ingram (5,900) vs Lions: This recommendation comes from more of a Vegas-based approach. The Saints line has moved significantly. It opened up at -3 and moved through that key number, all the way to -5. The Lions are no slouch against the run, ranking 5th so far in rush defense DVOA. However, I expect the Saints to win this game and at the price of 5,900, we only need 70 total yards and a touchdown. Ingram has had 70 total yards in at least 3 of his 4 games this season.
Julio Jones (8,400) vs Miami: Is Julio Jones really going to go 5 games without scoring a touchdown? I don’t think so. The Miami Dolphins rank 29th in pass defense DVOA, thanks to the putrid play of their cornerbacks. I think this is a get-right spot for Julio, where he goes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Julio is an excellent cash game play but thanks to his 200+ yard upside, he can also make a great tournament play.
The NFL not only changes from week to week but it can also change from day to day. If there are any further questions regarding these DFS plays, you can find me @SteveDraft_ on twitter where I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have throughout the week.
