Week 4 sucked!!!! Top teams and top players were on a bye which made it difficult to manage. Hopefully, you escaped with some savvy pickups. I wasn’t so lucky. But, week 4 is behind us and now its time to make a push toward the top of the standings. Here’s your week 5 start/sit calls.

START

QB, Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars

Chances are you don’t need a QB fill this week but Bortles is available if you have a bad matchup. The Steelers just came off a brutal home loss to Tampa and now have to travel to Jacksonville. I think the Jags actually get a win this week and Bortles should have a nice game.

RB, Toby Gerhart, Jacksonville Jaguars

I’m just really against the Steelers’ defense right now. This might be Gerhart’s best game of the year.

WR, Jarius Wright, Minnesota Vikings

QB Teddy Bridgewater and Wright have some chemistry form playing on the second team together and it shows. Patterson gets all the attention and Wright is benefitting. He busted out last week or 8/132. No doubt Bridewater keeps looking for him against the susceptible Packers’ defense.

WR, Eddie Royal, San Diego Chargers

OK….I’m buying in! Royal is becoming a favorite target of Philip Rivers. The Jets have the long flight but can still stop the run. All focus will be on Keenan Allen so Royal will find spots. I think he’s a borderline WR2 this week

TE, Larry Donnell, New York Giants

Finally!!!! He woke up! The Giants offense is driven by a threat at TE and Donnell has become a threat the past two weeks. I’m liking him this week but after that I’d expect him to be limited by defenses. You could tell Atlanta’s defense what’s coming and they still couldn’t stop it.

D/ST, Cleveland Browns

Yeah….I’m serious. Tennessee doesn’t scare me and I just have a feeling about the Browns this week.

SIT

QB, Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

Yes…..I am a Giants fan but the defense has looked good as of late. The Giants are home and have the longer rest from playing last Thursday. Atlanta will have trouble stopping the Giants’ pass rush.

RB, Montee Ball, Denver Broncos

Arizona not only wants this game but NEEDS this game. Both teams come off a bye so that’s a push. The Cardinals are a pretty darn good defense and pretty stingy against the run. This game is gonna be a dog-fight. Denver will win with Peyton throwing not Ball running.

WR, Pierre Garcon, Washington Redskins

Seattle is on the slate this week and if QB Cousins couldn’t perform agains the Giants what will Seattle do to him? Garcon and all of Washington’s receivers suffer this week.

TE, Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

He’s been a nice pickup if you were lucky enough to grab him. However, the 49ers are playing pretty well on defense and I’d just play the percentages on this one. Sit Kelce this week.

D/ST, Carolina Panthers

Carolina’s D has been pretty good so far but the Bears can score with so many weapons. I’m not sure they match up too well against a Chicago team desperate for a win.
