Week 5 my friends. Season is just flying on by. Injuries galore. Surprise studs and dubious duds. Waiver wire could crash like the stock market in ’29. Just another season in fantasy-land.

Some interesting matchups this week like Seattle at Cinci. That should be one hell of a game. We’ll find out how good Andy Dalton and the Bengals really are.

It’s on to week 5!

BYESMiami, Minnesota, N.Y. Jets, Carolina

START

QB, Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs

A home game this week against Chicago could be really good. Chicago actually ranks 6th in passing D but Smith threw for 386 last week at the Bengals, mainly because they were playing from behind, but had no TD’s and no INT’s. Look for Kansas City to work Smith’s arm a little and keep some confidence in the passing game. Could be a nice fill in for someone like Cam Newton or Ryan Fitzpatrick who are on a bye.

RB, T.J. Yeldon, Jacksonville Jaguars

Yeldon had 105 rushing on 22 carries last week in a heartbreak loss to the Colts. Tampa Bay doesn’t pose much of a threat to stop this rookie who is looking like a RB who can and wants to shoulder the load.

WR, Martavis Bryant, Pittsburgh Steelers

Bryant has been sitting with a four game suspension. I have been super high on this guy and I advise you not to take the wait and see approach. I think he makes an immediate impact on Monday night against the Chargers.

TE, Owen Daniels, Denver Broncos

Peyton Manning looks to have found a new “binky” and his name is Owen. Manning keeps finding Daniels and he’s becoming a favorite redzone target too. Daniels should have a nice day against Oakland.

D/ST, New York Giants

Really impressed with how they limited Tyrod Taylor and Buffalo last week on the road. The 49ers are making the cross country trip to NY this week and I like the Gmento keep rolling with the improving D.

SIT

QB, Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

Dalton has impressed throught he first four games. However, Seattle comes to town and has been much better since Kam Chancellor has returned. I’m very weary of Dalton this week.

RB, Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers

Do you know who has the top rushing defense right now, giving up 69 yards per game? The New York Giants. I’m sitting Hyde this week. Not a lot to like in this matchup.

WR, Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders

I love Denver’s defense. Oakland should be in for a long day against that pass rush and Cooper will have Talib coverage all day. Not a good matchup.

TE, Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals

Eifert has been great thus far. But again, Seattle can cover the TE’s and I think Eifert gets limited touches this week.

D/ST, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh travels to the west coast and I think these teams both score in the 30’s. Rivers will be slinging the ball all over the field. Not much for defense in this game.
