With LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams both ruled out in week 5, Rex Ryan has already hinted at Anthony Dixon starting this upcoming Sunday. Dixon finds himself in a good situation as he leads a run-oriented offense against Tennessee’s 22nd ranked run defense.

Dixon brings a much different running style than that of McCoy or Williams. Dixon proves to be a much better fit in Ryan’s offensive scheme with his physical, powerful running style. This especially bodes well in the redzone as Dixon will get a good chunk of carries at that vicinity of the field making him likely to come away with at least one touchdown in this game.

However, he hasn’t played well this season in a limited sample size. On 8 carries so far this season he has compiled 0 yards, to go along with a TD in week 1. While he has gotten off to a poor start, there is no cause for concern. In games that he received double-digit carries last season, he averaged over 3 yards per rush, much more comforting than his 0 yards per carry so far this season.

While the absences of McCoy and Williams will both prove to be huge losses for the Bills, they will heavily rely on the arm of Tyrod Taylor which boosts his fantasy stock in week 5 as well.

The lack of depth in the backfield is great news for Anthony Dixon, he’ll get most of the carries ahead of guys like Cierre Wood and Dan Herron, who was signed earlier this week. With the workload he’ll get, Dixon is a great fantasy option in week 5, especially for those of you who are desperate for production at the RB position. Dixon is definitely worth a shot this week, especially in a favorable matchup against the Titans.

I’m buying Anthony Dixon in week 5. How this fantasy season has played out, production is coming from the most unsuspected sources. I’ll go out on a limb here and predict a performance of 50 yards or so and 2 TDs for Dixon in week 5 compiling anywhere from 10-17 fantasy points, very respectable for a guy who entered the season as the team’s 4th string RB, before Fred Jackson was cut.

If you like Anthony Dixon this week, put your money where your mouth is and use him to try to take down the $1 Million top prize at DraftKings.
