Every week fantasy owners have tough decisions to make. Whether it is who to start in their FLEX spot or if they should start a less quality player against a weaker defense. I will be giving my fantasy followers my solo rankings based on PPR scoring. As an added bonus I will explain my favorite matchup for each position. If you have more specific questions regarding fantasy football and my rankings, ask me on twitter (@MikeSports22) and as always happy hunting fantasy friends.

My Favorite Quarterback Matchup

Philip Rivers vs Browns: On Thanksgiving Rivers carved up the Cowboys, finishing with a season-high 28.9 fantasy points. The Chargers are trending in the right direction and just one game out of first place in the AFC west. Rivers and the Chargers must have revenge on their minds as the Browns got their only win last season against them. The Browns rank 25th in the league against opposing quarterbacks, giving up an average of 18.1 fantasy points per game. Meanwhile, Rivers is averaging 20.7 fantasy points per game since the Chargers bye week.

My Favorite Running Back Matchup

Alvin Kamara vs Panthers: There isn’t a hotter fantasy running back right now than Kamara. Over the last four games, Kamara is averaging 29.6 fantasy points per game despite getting under 12 carries in each game. However, over that span Kamara is averaging 5.8 catches a game and has six total touchdowns. While the Panthers rank fourth in the league against opposing running backs, giving up just 18.8 fantasy points per game, Kamara’s workload and explosive playmaking ability seems unstoppable at this point.

My Favorite Wide Receiver Matchup

DeAndre Hopkins at Titans: Whether it’s Deshaun Watson or Tom Savage under center for the Texans, Hopkins has continued to be a monster for fantasy owners. Hopkins has scored 17.5 or more fantasy points in every game that Savage started this season. Furthermore, over his last five games, Hopkins is averaging 22.4 fantasy points per games. Meanwhile, the Titans rank 26th in the league against opposing wide receivers, giving up an average of 35 fantasy points per game. In Week 4, the Texans’ wide receivers scored 55.3 fantasy points, a season worst for the Titans, led by Hopkins with 26.7 fantasy points.

18 Tyler Kroft Bengals vs Steelers
19 O.J. Howard Buccaneers at Packers
20 Ricky Seals-Jones Cardinals vs Rams

My Favorite Tight End Matchup

Jared Cook vs Giants: Last week against the Broncos, Cook let fantasy owners down scoring barely over one fantasy point. However, this week Cook faces a Giants defense that ranks last in the league against opposing tight ends, giving up an average of 17.8 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the Giants have allowed opposing tight ends to score at least 15.8 fantasy points in 10 games this season. In addition to the good matchup, the Raiders are likely to be without Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper, meaning Cook will see a huge jump in targets this week.

Rank Team Opponent
1 Chargers vs Browns
2 Jaguars vs Colts
3 Bears vs 49ers
4 Raiders vs Giants
5 Titans vs Texans
6 Rams at Cardinals
7 Steelers at Bengals
8 Ravens vs Lions
9 Dolphins vs Broncos
10 Lions vs Ravens
11 Patriots at Bills
12 Vikings at Falcons
13 Buccaneers at Packers
14 Packers vs Buccaneers
15 Eagles at Seahawks

My Favorite Defense/Special Teams Matchup

Chargers vs Browns: Over their two game winning streak, the Chargers D/ST is averaging 21 fantasy points per game. This week they face the Browns, who are the friendliest team to opposing D/STs. On the season, opposing D/STs are averaging 12.7 fantasy points per game when facing the Browns offense. Furthermore, opposing D/STs have scored 10 or more fantasy points in five of the last six games against the Browns. The Chargers defense have forced eight turnovers and scored three touchdowns during their two streak.

Rank Name Team Opponent
1 Greg Zuerlein Rams at Cardinals
2 Justin Tucker Ravens vs Lions
3 Stephen Gostkowski Patriots at Bills
4 Chris Boswell Steelers at Bengals
5 Wil Lutz Saints vs Panthers
6 Dan Bailey Cowboys vs Redskins
7 Kai Forbath Vikings at Falcons
8 Ryan Succop Titans vs Texans
9 Matt Bryant Falcons vs Vikings
10 Matt Prater Lions at Ravens
11 Brandon McManus Broncos at Dolphins
12 Josh Lambo Jaguars vs Colts

My Favorite Kicker Matchup

Greg Zuerlein at Cardinals: Most kickers are “a dime a dozen” to fantasy owners, but not Zuerlein. For the season, Zuerlein ranks first among kickers, averaging 13.5 fantasy points per game and scores 2.5 more fantasy points than the second highest scoring kicker. Thanks to the Rams highest scoring offense, Zuerlein has scored 11 or more fantasy points in eight games this season. Furthermore, Zuerlein has scored 17 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Meanwhile, the Cardinals rank 18th against opposing kickers, giving up an average of 8.5 fantasy points per game. However, given how banged up the Cardinals defense is, fantasy owners should expect another big fantasy performance from Zuerlein.
