With week 1 in the books we look back at some of the sleepers and busts from a great opening week. Willie Snead and Spencer Ware were by far the sleepers of the week. Two guys that weren’t getting a lot of love, if any before kickoff. Theo Riddick was also in the category but he is almost a must play in PPR leagues as he caught 80 passes last year.

This week also had its fair share of busts and they were BIG name guys. Adrian Peterson finished with a terrible 31 yards against a Titans team that many expected him to run all over. Dez Bryant and Allen Robinson were also huge busts for Week 1 as they were consensus first round picks in almost any format of fantasy football.

Let’s get to this week though as I give you some potential sleepers and potential busts, let’s start with the positives.

Sleepers

RB Rashad Jennings (New York Giants)

Not a big week playing Dallas, but it was a hard fought divisional game to open the season. No matter who is playing against the Saints this year, I highly recommend grabbing as many position players for either team in the contest.
Projection – 16 carries/ 73 yards/ 1 TD/ 4 rec/ 36 yards

WR Will Fuller (Houston Texans)

He scored his first career touchdown last week versus a bad Bears team. This week the Texans play the Chiefs and I expect them to focus solely on Hopkins and Miller. Fuller has unreal speed and after the defensive effort that Kansas City gave last week, I like Houston to win and Fuller to be big.
Projection – 6 rec/ 105 yards/ 2 TD

WR Devin Funchess (Carolina Panthers)

What a terrible way to start your breakout year. One catch for nine yards and a loss, don’t expect to see the Panthers go down like that this week. They play the 49ers who are riding high, that will end early and Cam will find Funchess multiple times to make up for last week.
Projection – 5 rec/ 89 yards/ 2 TD

Busts

QB Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers)

That touchdown pass to Adams was unbelievable and Rodgers had a solid game. This week they go to the new dome in Minnesota and it will be crazy there. I see an emotional Vikings team getting a big defense live push and a bigger win against their division rival.
Projection – 18/33 / 206 yards/ 1 TD/ 2 INT

RB Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams)

After the Monday Night debacle against San Francisco, things will only get worse for the Rams as they play Seattle. Gurley will be called a bust for the season by those who overreact but rest easy friends, it will get better.
Projection – 21 carries/ 51 yards/ 1 TD/ 2 fumbles

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay looked very good in their opener against Atlanta. Winston hit 4 different targets for touchdowns and it was a great team win. They will play an angry Arizona team this week who just took a loss at home.
Projection – AZ 34 TB 13
