Just a day after completing a trade with the Cardinals where they sent Chandler Jones packing, the Patriots stayed active on Wednesday with their acquisition of Martellus Bennett.

The 9th year veteran will provide a dynamic tight end tandem with Rob Gronkowski. You know Bellichick loves to run those two tight end sets. Perhaps Gronk and Bennett will be reminiscent of the offense when Aaron Hernandez was there. On an offense that was often bit by the injury bug this past season, Bennett should serve as a great addition.

For Chicago, they’re clearly in rebuilding mode. They get a 4th round pick in return for Bennett. After re-signing the emerging Zach Miller earlier this week, the aging Bennett became expendable. Miller showed great signs of flashes in 2015 and sees his fantasy value skyrocket with the departure of Bennett.

I absolutely love the potential Bennett brings to New England’s offense and look forward to see him lineup opposite of Gronkowski. The Bears received solid value in return.
