Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy mashed the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in week 14. However, he was absent from the team’s closing drive due to a hip injury, which naturally stirred up questions about his week 15 availability. The injury has been diagnosed as a hip bruise, but head coach Mike McCarthy reportedly does not have a “high concern” in regards to the injury.

It looks like Lacy’s removal from Monday night’s game was more about playing it safe than a star player nursing a serious injury. James Starks matched Lacy with over 70 rushing yards and was able to effectively help close out a win. That doesn’t necessarily mean Lacy is fully in the clear to start against a very tough Buffalo Bills defense on the road this week, but it doesn’t sound like he’s at great risk of sitting out, either.

Lacy has some tough sledding ahead of him this week, as the Bills are among the most annoying run defenses against fantasy running backs this year. Regardless of the brutal matchup, you can’t really sit Lacy this week, as the fantasy playoffs likely hang in the balance. You probably can’t expect the big numbers he’s been putting up in recent weeks, but if he can at least find the end-zone he’ll easily be worth the RB2 spot.
