In what seems to be the most shocking news of the day in the fantasy football world, Jamaal Charles returned to Chiefs practice only four days removed from what head coach Andy Reid said to be a high ankle sprain. I am hesitant to believe it is actually a high ankle sprain given the usual time needed to recover from this type of injury. Andy Reid did state, however, that it was of the very mild kind of sprain. Most people tended to overlook that aspect of Andy Reid’s comments. Knile Davis seemed to be a shoe-in RB1 for the next four weeks as Jamaal Charles recovered from the injury but the fact that JC was on the practice field today changes things.

Charles missed practiced on Wednesday and was far from a full participant in Thursday’s practice but it is great news for all JC owners across the land. While he is expected to be sidelined for this Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, the fact that he is on the field running and cutting promises a quicker return than originally planned. If Jamaal does in fact sit out for the Chiefs Week 3 game, pencil Knile Davis in your starting lineup as a low end RB1.

The Chiefs host the New England Patriots in Week 4 on Monday Night Football, giving Charles an extra full day or rest, so don’t be shocked to see the number 1 ranked fantasy running back in full gear for next week.
