Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton suffered a pretty severe bruise to his left knee last week at Buffalo; causing him to leave the game. At that point, Hilton was targeted 14 times and had 7 receptions for 88 yards. His initial status was bleak when Colts’ owner Jim Irsay said he expected Hilton to miss some time.
As of Friday, head coach Chuck Pagano was optimistic that his top wide receiver would be able to play Monday night against the Jets. To this point Hilton still has not practiced but was hoping to get on the field Friday. With a Monday night game comes an extra day of rest for Hilton to heal and possibly be ready. So, at this point in time, Hilton looks to be a game time decision for the Colts’ home opener.

If Hilton does sit out, Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett will be the next guys up to try and shoulder the load. Since the game is Monday night, you have to be careful in regards to finalizing your week two fantasy football lineups. You don’t want to rely on Hilton for your lineup only to find out he isn’t playing.
Moncrief would be the more appealing of the two to possibly try and pick up off waivers as Hilton’s replacement for the time being. Picking up Moncrief, while having Hilton, gives you the insurance of playing either receiver for Monday night. Andre Johnson would step up into the #1 role and did see 10 targets last week, but he wasn’t productive and could draw the focus of Darrelle Revis. Not good. If Moncrief is not available, I would forget about Hilton this week and go with your next best option.
To a lesser degree, tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener could also factor into the passing game more. They might end up doing that anyways, but Allen is used primarily for blocking and both are impossible to gauge on a weekly basis. All of these guys are super cheap at DraftKings, though, so if Hilton sits you definitely have your pick of the litter when it comes to cheap value picks with some upside to cap week two.
