If you put in a waiver claim for Chris Thompson, you made out even better than expected. After fumbling the ball twice last week, Matt Jones was expected to see a degraded role moving forward. As it’s played out, he won’t even suit up on Sunday as he deals with a knee injury.

While Rob Kelley is slated to be the starter in the backfield during Sunday’s matchup in London against Cincinnati, I prefer Chris Thompson this week. He’s been solid for Washington so far this season. Thompson has averaged over 5 yards per carry and is coming off a 19 touch performance against Detroit where he caught 7 passes and racked up over 100 total yards. He’s caught a pass in every game so far this season, so he’s valuable in PPR formats as well.
As for Kelley, he could be played in deeper leagues, or if you’re desperate for a FLEX. He only has one catch all year, so shy away in PPR leagues. His season-high for carries is only 5, but he should at least double that total this week. Kelley does bring upside to the table and he could be in for a breakout performance, but Thompson is the safer play.
