The offense for the Pittsburgh Steelers will get a much needed breath of fresh air in week 5 as their 2nd year WR, Martavis Bryant is set to return following a 4-game suspension. Bryant was suspended after failing multiple drug tests.

Pittsburgh is coming off a loss on Thursday Night Football in their first game without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Mike Vick stepped in and did exactly what was asked of him, he didn’t make any meaningful mistakes and he was very efficient throwing the ball. The new approach to the Steelers offensive gameplan leaves Bryant’s role undetermined as he serves as a great deep threat; going deep is something the Steelers look to shy away from in Roethlisberger’s absence.

In the preseason, Vick and Bryant showed great rapport as they hooked up for 138 yards on 3 passes, plus a deep pass interference penalty drawn by Bryant. Perhaps we’ll see Vick and the Steelers go deep more in week 5. Against the Ravens, Vick attempted only two passes of 20+ yards.

Last season Bryant hauled in 8 TD catches in 10 games and averaged over 21 yards per reception which was tops among players with at least 25 receptions.

Fantasy Insight

Bryant joins a good WR but will be the guy to serve as Antonio Brown’s understudy. Until Roethlisberger returns, Bryant’s fantasy value takes a slight dip, but he is definitely a guy worth having on your roster. He burst onto the fantasy scene last season and is in for a more productive season. If he is available in your league, I highly advise picking him up based on his tremendous upside.
