The Pittsburgh Steelers were getting excited to finally get star wide receiver Martavis Bryant back on the field. After sitting out the team’s first four games due to a suspension, it was expected that he’d be ready to contribute in week five against the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football.

Now there is doubt if that will happen. Per Mike Prisuta via Twitter, Michael Vick has expressed concern over Bryant’s availability this week, suggesting he’s only practiced with his teammate one time all week. It is unknown if Bryant’s status is potentially in limbo due to an injury or not being up to speed with his assignments, but Vick’s concern could mean the Steelers may have to wait another week to unleash their star deep threat. Should Bryant indeed sit out, Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey would continue rotating as the second and third receivers behind Antonio Brown.

Fantasy Insight

The hell? We can’t know yet for sure if Bryant will remain out, but it needs to be said that he wasn’t able to practice with his teammates during his suspension. Him actually being there now and missing four weeks of that crucial time could end up being a bigger deal that some may have figured. Regardless, Bryant’s status isn’t official either way, but you do need to prepare for him not being active. He might be a quite fade in daily fantasy football and in regular leagues if you don’t have another option handy for MNF (like Dontrelle Inman), then you may want to just fill it with a Sunday option and try again in week six with Bryant. Stay tuned.
