It’s possible the Seattle Seahawks won’t have Beast Mode with them when they take on the Chicago Bears in their 2015 home opener this Sunday. Perhaps their opponent being the Bears could end up having something to do with it. Then again, no 0-2 team should play with fire.

Lynch isn’t a lock to sit out, but after dealing with a nagging calf injury all week, the Seahawks have deemed him questionable for week three. There have been no signs up until this point to suggest Lynch was in danger of sitting out this week, but there is now some doubt surrounding his status. Should Lynch sit this one out, Fred Jackson would start and see the majority of Seattle’s carries in the running game.

Fantasy Insight

It could be nothing, or it could be huge news. Marshawn Lynch was shaping up as a top-five fantasy football running back this week, as he’s usually unstoppable at home and the Bears look like as tasty of a matchup and he might see all year. After two lackluster weeks with no scores, fantasy owners are naturally crossing their fingers their top running back will be all systems go. He still might be, but the questionable tag is a mild cause for concern. Prepare for week three as if Lynch could be out, and if active, he’s obviously a must-start.

While this could end up being a bummer for season long brethren, it could be awesome for daily fantasy football players. Lynch’s absence would be huge for his backup, making Fred Jackson one of the top cheap plays at daily sites. Jackson would have a big role and his versatile skill-set would make him a trendy play at the last second.
