It was tough sledding for Lamar Miller and the Miami Dolphins run game in week two, as the star running back mustered just 14 yards on 10 carries in a road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It turns out a bad statistical day wasn’t Miller’s only worry, as the Dolphins are holding their top rusher out of practice and listing him as “day to day” with an ankle injury.
Both RB Lamar Miller and TE Jordan Cameron are both day to day.

Miller has already stated that he will be “alright”, but the lack of practice reps may show that he could be at risk of sitting out of Miami’s week three battle with the Buffalo Bills. With the Dolphins signing Jonas Gray back off the practice squad of the second time this year, the writing could be on the wall that Miller could be limited or unavailable, altogether. If Miller is indeed held out against Buffalo, the Dolphins would turn to backup Damien Williams and the aforementioned Gray.
It’s only Wednesday, so it’s too early to worry about Lamar Miller’s status for week three just yet. Ankles can get better quickly when they’re not of the “high” variety, while this could just be a normal day of rest for a running back who isn’t 100% and got beat up in week two. It’s obviously something to monitor, however, which is why we’re discussing it in the middle of the week. Should Miller miss practice time or be limited during the next two days, he’d suddenly become a serious risk to sit out of week three. It’s possible you’ll want to start thinking of alternative options regardless of Miller’s playing status, too, as he laid an egg last week and gets a pretty tough Bills defense in week three. Avoiding Miller in daily fantasy football leagues is probably a good start.
