Knowshon Moreno was already an injury risk when the Miami Dolphins signed him away from the Denver Broncos in free agency. Naturally, he lived up to that label by getting hurt twice in his first two months with the team. The third time looks to be the charm, as Moreno sustained a torn ACL this past week and will be lost for the remainder of the season.

Lamar Miller trumpets, sound!

Yes, losing Moreno is a hit to Miami’s overall offense, but it’s a major gain for fantasy football owners hoping for Lamar Miller to continue on with a stable role. Short of a complete face-plant and Daniel Thomas stepping back in and stabbing us in the gut with vulture upon vulture score, Miller is bound to finally pay off. Fantasy owners dubbed him a gem of a sleeper last year and that backfired at least to a certain degree. However, this year he’s been quite solid, scoring four touchdowns over the first five games and touching the ball at least 13 times in each contest.

More importantly, Miller put up 78 total yards and a score even with Moreno healthy and splitting the load in week one, and since hasn’t dipped under 50 total yards in any game. The only reason he got remotely close to doing so (in week two) was because the Bills run defense is disgutingly good and Miami also chose to go away from the ground game. And they were getting whipped pretty good thanks to Ryan Tannehilling sparing everyone to death.

But I digress. Here we are, Lamar Miller owners. The world is for the taking. Daniel Thomas is still back there holding the voodoo doll, waiting to torture us all. But for the moment, Miller seems to be a legit RB2 in fantasy circles. Enjoy it while it lasts.
