In a year which has been filled with disappointing fantasy performances early on, it’s nice to see some guys burst onto the scene after flying under the radar. Karlos Williams has been one of those guys.

The Buffalo Bills rookie running back suffered a concussion in the week 4 loss against the Giants which added to an already banged up backfield as LeSean McCoy deals with a hamstring ailment. Both are expected to sit out in week 5 against Tennessee.

With Williams and McCoy set to miss this week’s upcoming game, Boobie Dixon will step in as the starting running back. Dixon has only 8 carries this season for 0 yards and a TD. In an attempt to add more depth to the position, the Bills went out and signed former Colt, Dan Herron.

Karlos William leads the team in rushing yards and averages 5.4 yards per carry. He brings big play ability which will surely be missed in the backfield. He is the only player to score a TD in all 4 games this season.

Fantasy Insight

With both Williams and McCoy out in week 5, that opens the door for Boobie Dixon. While he hasn’t made any impact yet this season, he is a deep sleeper in week 5 against a poor Titans run defense. The Bills will look to give the power back a handful of opportunities in the red-zone, he very well could come out with a touchdown or two. Cierre Wood could also factor into the mix.

If anyone benefits from the situation in the backfield the most, it’s Tyrod Taylor. Taylor has been one of the biggest surprises this season, the Bills will lean on his arm with a poor RB situation.
