The injuries piled up in week 14, but the injury to Matt Forte may have been there all season long. Forte played only the first two series against the 49ers before hyperextending a meniscus injury. An MRI revealed he has a torn meniscus in his right knee and his status for this ‘s Saturday night showdown against Miami remains up in the air.
The veteran claims to have played through a torn meniscus throughout the season, but was hoping to hold off on surgery until the offseason – this injury even links back to his days in Chicago. The way I see it, there’s no reason to risk further injury at this stage in the season with New York out of the playoff hunt.
Jets RB Matt Forte says he's been playing this season with a torn meniscus.

Forte has put together a productive debut season in the Big Apple as he currently ranks as the 13th fantasy RB. It’s worth monitoring his status closely leading up to Saturday as you’ll definitely want him in your lineup if he’s good to go.
If Forte is forced to sit out in week 15, Bilal Powell becomes a solid FLEX option. Powell came on to replace Forte and absolutely exploded – scoring 29 fantasy points on 145 rushing yards, 2 TDs, while adding 5 catches.
While the Dolphins are more stout on defense than San Francisco, Powell is primed for another productive week, if Forte is unable to play. The Jets are weak at QB with Bryce Petty starting the rest of the way, so the running game will be the main source of production. Powell is even more valuable in PPR leagues with 42 catches on the year. Even if Forte plays, Powell should still see a respectable workload and may even warrant a FLEX start in that case as well.
