The 2015 NFL season has been a total disaster for DeMarco Murray, who was supposed to be the reason the Philadelphia Eagles were a legit NFC threat. Things haven’t gone as planned, and Murray carries an ugly 0.5 yards per carry average going into the third week of the season. He might be lucky just to get there.
Per reports, Murray left Wednesday’s practice early due to a hamstring injury.

Murray and head coach Chip Kelly didn’t elaborate on the news, so it’s tough to know just how serious it might be. Whether or not Murray is limited or even participating in Thursday’s practice could tell a lot about his week three status. If Murray should be unavailable, Ryan Mathews would be Philly’s lead back when the face the New York Jets in week three.
This could be nothing, or the season from hell just got worse for Murray and the Eagles. For now just sort through your options if Murray is out, and considering the tough matchup with a good defense, you may have wanted to be doing that anyways. Should Murray sit out, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles would both have Flex appeal, while Mathews would at least have the role to give him a shot at RB2 upside. Both would be bargains at daily fantasy football sites like DraftKings, potentially.
