The same night I published a piece regarding fantasy studs who can turn it around in which I included Anderson, he suffers a knee injury on Monday Night which looks to keep him out a few weeks. With Anderson out, it looks like it’s time for rookie Devontae Booker to emerge in Denver’s backfield.

Fantasy Impact

I was very high on the 4th round pick out of Utah. Booker has a hard, physical running style which suits him well behind Denver’s offensive line. He’s coming off a season-high 17 carries for 83 rushing yards with a TD in relief of the injured Anderson this past Monday Night.

Booker was one of the hottest waiver wire snags heading into week 8, as any new starting tailback will be. With a passing game that the Broncos can’t exactly rely on, Booker will be fed a heavy dose while filling in for Anderson.

Looking at this week’s matchup against a stout San Diego front 7, he should turn in a solid performance, although I don’t expect the huge breakout game that some expect against a Chargers run defense which is top 10 in the league, allowing just 90 rushing yards per game. As long as he’s the starter, he’s a must start.

Week 8 Projection: 21 carries, 93 rushing yards, 1 catch, 12 receiving yards (10.5 fantasy points)
