The Chicago Bears are going to have a tough time in week three when they travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. Already without star quarterback Jay Cutler, the Bears confirmed on Friday that star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will also be sidelined. Jeffery sat out of Chicago’s week two home loss and in an effort to get back to 100%, will miss his second straight game.
Jeffery came into the 2015 NFL season with serious questions surrounding a calf injury, but he made it back to suit up in week one. Jeffery was able to secure five catches for 78 yards in the Bears’ home opener, but rushing back has now cost him his last two games. He’ll hope to be 100% when the Bears face a must-win game in week four.
This is a big loss for Chicago, as they were already down Cutler and now backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen has very little to work with. Jeffery obviously needs to be taken out of all season long fantasy football lineups and faded in DFS leagues. Martellus Bennett could be highly targeted in week three, while Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson could also see expanded roles. None of them are strongly suggested plays with Clausen manning the offense, however. You still have to start Matt Forte in season long leagues, but he may be tough to spend up for in daily leagues now.
