One of the biggest changes in the fantasy football world recently has been the emergence of websites focused solely on “daily leagues.”  Rather than the season long leagues frequently seen on a Yahoo or ESPN, daily leagues consist of individuals drafting a team for one individual day.  For fantasy football fans, it’s an opportunity to re-write the script each and every week by selecting a different roster for every Sunday.

DraftKings is the most well-known daily league website, with contests ranging from as few as twenty participants all the way to close to 100,000.  Most recently, they have launched the $2.2 million “Millionaire Maker” contest which has a guaranteed payout of $2,200,000 and the winning team takes home a cool $1,000,000.  The roster is structured very similarly to any other fantasy league out there: you select one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, and one flex (RB/WR/TE) position.  You also select one defense/special teams.  They also have your stand scoring structure, with one point per reception included.

For fantasy football players who have seen their teams struggle out of the gate, it’s a great way of staying fully invested in the NFL season all year long.  And an easy way to win a lot of money. Do you think you can bring home the million dollars? Here’s a look at what constituted last week’s perfect scoring team:

QB: Austin Davis | Salary = $5,600 | Fantasy Points = 33.00 | % Owned = 3.28%

RB: Arian Foster | Salary = $7,400 | Fantasy Points = 34.20 | % Owned = 0.82%

RB: Matt Forte | Salary = $7,800 | Fantasy Points = 34.60 | % Owned = 8.60%

WR: Demaryius Thomas | Salary = $7,400 | Fantasy Points = 45.60 | % Owned = 7.18%

WR: Desean Jackson | Salary = $4,600 | Fantasy Points = 29.70 | % Owned = 0.57%

WR: Golden Tate | Salary = $4,900 | Fantasy Points = 29.40 | % Owned = 7.64%

TE: Greg Olsen| Salary = $5,300 | Fantasy Points = 25.20 | % Owned = 2.64%

FLEX: Branden Oliver | Salary = $3,000 | Fantasy Points = 37.20 | % Owned = 0.07%

DEF: Philadelphia Eagles | Salary = $3,300 | Fantasy Points = 23.00 | % Owned = 8.69%

Austin Davis and Branden Oliver were rostered by very few teams and put up big numbers, with 33 and 37.20 points each, respectively. Meanwhile, Arian Foster was owned by just 0.82% of teams and managed to add 34.20 points.  For a player of his caliber, it is surprising to see so few teams go with the Texans RB, but the price tag may have shooed some interested parties away.

This week, you’ll be sure to see a lot of Demaryius Thomas owners with the Broncos visiting the Jets in New York.  Any of the Denver wide receivers – Thomas, Wes Welker, Emmanuel Sanders, and tight end Julius Thomas as well – could put up huge numbers.

Golden Tate is sure to be another pick of many this week with Calvin Johnson potentially missing this week’s game against the Vikings.  Tate is arguably a low-end WR1 against Minnesota and will get a substantial percentage of Matthew Stafford’s targets.

With the Saints and Chiefs on a bye this week, a few of fantasy’s biggest performers will be on the sidelines.  Nonetheless, there’s still plenty of options to choose from and an opportunity for many for some fantasy football glory!
