Last night’s Thursday night game didn’t live up to my expectations, but I still feel optimistic about a lot of player’s fantasy production this weekend! With all of the fantasy studs from New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and the Giants on bye this week, it opens up the fantasy landscape for a lot of other players to thrive. If you want to win money in DFS this weekend, than budget the following players into your lineup!

Derek Carr, Quarterback, Oakland Raiders

Carr is coming off of a rare poor performance (where he still scored over 17 fantasy points). This week Carr is going into the Lion’s den (literally), which has been a less intimidating place to play than it sounds. The Lions are giving up the third most points to opposing quarterbacks this season, which will give Carr a prime opportunity to throw up another 30 point week. Oakland’s defense has also been atrocious, so I suspect this will be a high scoring affair, which just furthers my suspicions that Carr will have a huge fantasy week.

Charcandrick West, Running Back, Kansas City Chiefs

I am a big fan for a couple of reasons. One, the Chargers (the Chiefs opposition this weekend) are the worst fantasy run defense in the NFL. And two, West has scored over 18 points in each of his last three games. Those numbers are undeniable. Whether you are trying to decide between who to start in your fantasy lineup, where to spend money in DFS, or what running back you need to start to get the perfect lineup, Charcandrick is your man.

Stevie Johnson, Wide Receiver, San Diego Chargers

It seems like I’m a big fan of the AFC West this week, as this is my third AFC West player in as many picks. Now this pick might seem like a bit of a stretch, but I think Stevie Johnson could see a TON of looks this weekend. Phillip Rivers throws the ball way too many times, and Stevie Johnson is by far his best weapon at wide receiver. Combine that with the fact that the Chargers are coming off of a bye week where Johnson and Rivers could really spend time together. AND the fact that the Chargers are seeing a very familiar foe in the Chiefs this weekend, I think Johnson could be the dark-horse you need to win money in DFS or help you dominate your fantasy league.

Rob Gronkowski, Tight End, New England Patriots

I usually try to imagine someone other than Gronkowski to put in this spot (just because he is such an easy and obvious choice), but this week I couldn’t resist. With Edelman freshly out of the Patriots lineup it seems hard to imagine Gronkowski not going full Gronk on the Bills this weekend. This is definitely the position where you want to spring for the top guy in DFS.

Blair Walsh, Kicker, Minnesota Vikings

Walsh has been money for the last several weeks, after an uncharacteristically slow start this season. Green Bay’s defense has also been suspect throughout their current three game losing skid. I think the Green Bay defense will bend a lot, but not break a lot. Which would make for a lot of field goal opportunities for Walsh. Whether you are streaming kickers in your fantasy league or want to win money in DFS Walsh is the guy this week.

New York Jets Defense

The New York Jets are one of the best defenses in the NFL even if it hasn’t directly translated to fantasy success. But playing against a Houston team led by TJ Yates, and void of Arian Foster, they have to be considered one of the NFL’s top defense’s this week. DeAndre Hopkins has also been suffering through a knee injury all week. Which is never a good thing when you are travelling to Revis Island. Hopkins is the Texans only chance of finding any offensive production this week, and I don’t like his chances. The Jets D should chew the Texans up and spit them out this weekend. Try and get them in your lineup!

What do you think of my picks? Let me know who you think would be a better choice, and we can debate it up!
