Lord what a week. We haven’t even watched any games and I feel like I’ve already been through the emotions of watching games.

After a week of trades and imagining how the teams will look on paper after all these transactions, we will finally get to see them ball. And as a whole, the league is starting to get healthier. It’s going to be a fun week (not just because of Manziel).

Let’s get to the steaming hot takes in PJ’s Place!

Ottawa Redblacks vs. Toronto Argonauts, Thursday, 7 PM ET, ESPN2, Toronto O

After Ricky Ray’s terrible injury and Franklin’s recent bad performance, Toronto is pushing out another QB: McLeod Bethel-Thompson.

Now if I know anything about Canadian football, it’s that QBs with 3 names always succeed. (Don’t @ me).

Trestman has always hyped up MBT so let’s see if he can back it up this game. Hopefully the Argos receivers and OL help him out a bit.

That Ottawa defense is coming and they get good pressure every game. They always make my Pass Rushes of the Week somehow.

If this MBT can’t get this offense going, it’s gonna be a long night in Toronto.

Pick: Ottawa

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Edmonton Eskimos, Thursday, 10 PM, ESPN+, Riders O

Zach Collaros is BYKE!! The QB that led the Riders to their first W of the season is back after spending time on the 6 week injury list.

And DB Nick Marshall is byke and Duron Carter is back at WR. All is well with the world.

Chris Jones has said that the offense will stay the same: run, screens and zone read. I pray to God that is not the case with Collaros.

Eskimos can’t start slow against this defense because they swarm. And if the Riders get out to an early lead, their defense can keep it for them.

Pick: Saskatchewan

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Montreal Manziels, Friday, 7:30 ET, ESPN2

The Montreal Manziels are ready to ball!!

The Als look like the Cleveland LeBrons after all of the moves they made to acquire an array of players.

But will it work?

Hamilton has a solid defense and Masoli is no joke. After all the hub bub about Manziel starting over Masoli before the season, I know Masoli is ready to show why he is starting for Hamilton.

He’ll deny it to the media but I know he’s seething.

Montreal’s defense can turn it on at times and if Manziel can turn it up with them, it will definitely be a great game.

This game will easily get over a million viewers on ESPN2.

Pick: Hamilton

British Columbia Lions vs. Calgary Stampeders, Saturday, 9 PM, ESPN+

BC is the weirdest team because I have seen the least of them.

Jonathon Jennings flamed out early and Lulay has looked good in his starts.

Their defense looks like it should be really good on paper but they haven’t stopped much. 2 weeks ago, they lost their showdown vs. Ottawa that came down to the wire so maybe there is hope for them.

I don’t expect them to stop Calgary though. Anything can happen in the CFL so it’s no guarantee.

But I’m not holding my breath.

Pick: Calgary

Enjoy the games folks! And as always check my Twitter account for highlights.
