Minions, minions, WE BYKE! Y’all already know CFL is here. We don’t care about NFL training camp starting this week (jk). WE don’t care about this being the last week without American football (yes we do). WE. ARE. THE CFL! WE STAN FOR THIS LEAGUE AND NO OTHER LEAGUE (jk, we love the NFL and CFB; pay the players, tho). We will never leave this league for another league!

Now, Step into PJ’s Place. Let’s get to these Week 7 games.

Edmonton Eskimos vs. Montreal Alouettes, Thursday, 7:30 PM ET, ESPN+, Alouettes Offense

Wooooo boy is this gonna be an interesting game. Montreal recently made Cavaliers-like, team-altering trades that saw them acquire QB Johnny Manziel, OL Tony Washington and Landon Rice and WR Adarius Bowman but lose DE Jamaal Westerman, Chri

But,

Vernon Adams Jr. is starting (about time!!).

Hopefully Montreal can protect this QB.

Meanwhile, Edmonton is coming off of a bye week and probably laughing at Montreal when they watch them on film. Make no mistake though; Montreal’s defense is decent enough to make some stops. But I’m not sure they stop Edmonton’s firepower very much.

They better hope and pray that their offense does something against this Edmonton defense that is getting healthier by the week.

Pick: Edmonton

Toronto Argonauts vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Friday, 8:30 PM ET, ESPN+, Toronto Offense (Live Mic Game)

I have been overestimating Toronto for these first few weeks. James Franklin has performed well but I have no clue what they’re doing on offense.

SJ Green has barely caught half of his targets, James Wilder Jr. has only had one game where he has gone for 100+ rushing yards and now he and new FA Dexter McCluster were carted away from practice.

Not a good sign for the Argos on top of getting obliterated by the Bombers last week, and now they have to play at Investors Group Field; one of the toughest places to play in the league. If they’re gonna turn their season around, it better be soon.

Pick: Winnipeg

Ottawa Redblacks vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Saturday, 4 PM ET, ESPN2, Hamilton Running Game

Oh, Hamilton. I have been singing Masoli and the Ti-Cats’s praises all year but they got swept by Saskatchewan amid their QB situation. For as many yards as Masoli has thrown for, he still has more INTs than TDs. In both of Hamilton’s Ws, they have had a running game that has gained 100+yards. Masoli clearly does his best when Hamilton mixes the run and the pass.

RUN THE BALL JUNE JONES!! Mercer Timmis hasn’t sniffed the ball since Week 2 vs. Edmonton. FEED THE BEAST.

But what do I know. I’m just a college football player watching Canadian football.

Pick: Ottawa

Calgary Stampeders vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders, 9 PM ET, ESPN+, Saskatchewan Offense (My Game of the Week)

AHHH YEEAAAA! Saving the best for last baby!

We got the undefeated Stamps with the best defense in the league and Bo Levi going against a Brandon Bridge that is gaining confidence and a tough defense that is led by an evil genius in Chris Jones. I’m very excited, and you should be too.

I can’t even say too much about this game. All I know is expect the heat to ramp up against a slightly less hobbled Bo Levi Mitchell and expect Brandon Bridge to put up or curl up against this defense. Just sit back and enjoy this game folks.

Pick: Calgary (but I’m looking for an upset *eyes emoji*)

As always, enjoy the games and check my feed for highlights!
