Oakland Raiders RB Maurice Jones-Drew had a rather forgettable debut for the Silver & Black in the loss to the Jets in Week 1, running 9 times for just 11 yards. He also, apparently, suffered a hand injury.

MJD missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday with the injury, and reportedly had a “minor” procedure on the injury. According to ESPN’s Bill Williamson, the Raider back said that he’s hopeful to play when the Raiders host the Texans on Sunday, but won’t necessarily push it if he’s really at-risk for further injury.

In the event that the former Jags great sits out, Oakland’s primary ball-toting duties will probably go to the walking knee injury known as Darren McFadden. DMC didn’t have much more success running the ball than MJD did, carrying it 4 times for 15 yards in the opener.

For fantasy purposes, you may just want to avoid the Raiders altogether. Houston’s defense made mincemeat of the Redskins a week ago, and if their Week 1 performance was any indication, Oakland’s “offense” probably won’t fare much better.
